The next general network meeting of Basic Income Ireland will take place on Thursday, 18th July at 6.30pm in the Central Hotel, Exchequer St, Dublin 2.
Malcolm Torry, a long-time activist for basic income discusses his new book, Money for Everyone: Why we need a Citizen's Income, which argues for a Universal Basic Income, or, as it is generally known, in the UK, a Citizen's Income. He concludes that every mainstream political ideology generates arguments for basic income.

Writing in Forbes Magazine, Tim Worstall offers his (qualified) support for the principle of a Basic Universal Income:
"The old idea of a universal basic income is getting another roll out. And it’s entirely true that the provision of such a thing would solve many of our economic problems. It’s not quite the miracle panacea but it is still pretty good all the same."
